Disciplinary Advantage

· Clean Combustion and New Energy Utilization
Focusing on the energy saving and emission reduction requirements of thermal machinery, the research was carried out on the internal flow atomization of fuel injection and combustion mechanism of fuel engines, the micro power system of combustion, the novel technology of pollutant removal and emission reduction of industrial exhaust gas, and the ignition and flame propagation of aviation engines. Great achievements have also been made in dynamic mechanical combustion theory and combustion technology, micro-scale combustion and new power battery. Furthermore, the research on biomass thermochemical transformation, solar thermal utilization, heat and mass transfer in semiconductor material growth, and thermal power plant engineering technology is also inspiring.

· Multiphase Flow and Complex Flow
Focusing on the basic and applied scientific issues of fluid machinery and engineering, fluid mechanics, new energy, and agricultural engineering, research has been done in internal complicated flow of fluid Machinery, charged multiphase flow, ultra-high pressure water jet, microscale multiphase flow and heat transfer, and turbulence drag reduction. Specific research contents include: unsteady flow of low noise pump and its excitation mechanism; thermal-fluid-solid coupling characteristics of special pumps and their engineering applications; basic theory of electrostatic atomization and non-newtonian fluid, and its application in new energy, industry and agriculture; mechanism and applications of ultra high pressure water jet and cavitation jet; flow characteristics and optimal design of microscale fluid machinery.
