Introduction
There are currently 10 full-time personnel, including 2 professors, 5 associate professors, 1 National-level outstanding teacher, 2 technology leader of the “333 Project” in Jiangsu Province, 1 young academic leader of the “Blue Project” of Jiangsu Province, 1 young technology support talents of Jiangsu Province, 1 young backbone teacher of the “Blue Project” of Jiangsu Province, and 2 talents of the Jiangsu Innovative and Entrepreneurial Doctorate.
The institute has been focused on the field of energy and power, with over 30 years of research history in the theory and application of advanced power. Scientific research works on high injection fuel system, internal nozzle flow, spray and combustion mechanism, biodiesel engine, optical diagnostics, and spray cooling. More than 40 projects including the Key Project of National Natural Science Foundation (International Cooperation), the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the Sub Project of National Key R&D Plan, the Project of National Development and Reform Commission High-tech Industrialization, the Project of Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation, and the Jiangsu university scientific and technological achievements transformation project, have been completed by the institute with a research funding of over ten million yuan.

Representative Research
The research team has published over a hundred high-level journal papers, including Combustion and Flame, Applied Energy, Fuel, Internation Journal of Heat Mass Transfer, Energy, Fuel, etc. Over 40 invention patents have been authorized, and 2 National Teaching Achievement Awards and 10 other Science and Technology Progress Awards in provincial and ministerial level have been achieved.

Typical Cases of Applications
The technology of dual fuel injectioon system of Natural gas has been successfully applied in the development of China’s first high-power Marine engine. The technology of vortex cavitation enhanced injection system has been successfully used in biodiesel engine.
