Introduction
There are currently 12 full-time personnel, including 4 professors (1 foreign professor), 4 associate professors and 4 lectures.
The institute has been focused on the field of energy and environment. Scientific research works on indoor heat and humidity environment, flow and enhanced heat transfer, heat pump energy-saving drying technology, phase change energy storage materials, energy-saving design of refrigeration equipment and bio-mechanics has been conducted. More than 30 projects including the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the Sub Project of National Key R&D Plan, the Project of Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation and the Project of school-enterprise cooperation have been completed by the institute with a research funding of over five million yuan.

Representative Research
The research team has published over a hundred high-level journal papers, including Renew. Sust. Energ. Rev., Energ. Buildings, App. Therm. Eng., Int. J. Heat Mass Trans., Thin Wall Struct., etc. Over 10 invention patents have been authorized and 2 Science and Technology Progress Awards in provincial and ministerial level have been achieved.

Typical Cases of Applications
The relevant researches are closely combined with the industrial advantages and enterprise needs of the Yangtze River Delta, especially in the basic theory and application technology of passive and active phase-change energy storage, waste heat utilization of air source heat pump, heat recharge system of ground source heat pump, collaborative operation optimization strategy of composite energy systems such as solar energy and night radiation.
