Introduction
There are currently 13 full-time personnel, including 5 professors, 8 associate professors, 1 technology leader of the “333 Project” in Jiangsu Province, 4 young academic leader of the “Six Peak Project” in Jiangsu Province, and 1 talent of the “Double Innovation Plan” in Jiangsu Province.
Fluid machinery is the national key discipline and also the earliest subject since Jiangsu University is established. Scientific research works on multiphase flow in fluid machinery, design theory of the pump, flow induced pressure pulsation and its control in pumps, low noise pump design, nuclear pump design and the complex flow, high speed pump research, nonlinear rotor dynamics of pumps, ocean energy utilization et al, have been conducted.
More than 70 projects including the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the Sub Project of National "863" Plan, the Project of Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation, and the Jiangsu university scientific and technological achievements transformation project, projects funded by the enterprise, have been completed by the institute with a research funding of over twenty million yuan.

Representative Research
The research team has published over a hundred high-level journal papers, including Int. J. Multiphase Flow, Phys Fluid, ASME Journal of Fluid Engineering, Exp. Fluids, Ocean Engineering, etc. Over 50 invention patents have been authorized, and 15 Science and Technology Progress Awards in provincial and ministerial level have been achieved.

Development of hydraulic model for CAP1400 nuclear power plant main circulating pump in China's third generation nuclear power plant.
Nuclear secondary loop pump: hydraulic performance research and optimization design of auxiliary feedwater electric pump, development of charging pump.
Karachi k2/k3 project: development of high cavitation performance degassing tower and front storage tank pump.
Ship pumps: high cavitation performance condensate and circulation pump development, development of low-noise axial flow circulating pumps and centrifugal pumps.
Pumps for large-scale water conservancy projects.
